The 2012 RAM 3500 is heavily equipped for any task that is thrown at it. Choose between a six-foot four-inch long, and eight-foot long bed for storage starters. The RAM 3500 features the class-exclusive RamBox. This water-proof and drainable storage area on the side of the bed has a storage space measured in beverage cans. The storage container in the smaller bed is able to hold up to 280 cans. Moving to the harder work, the truck has forged-steel tow hooks in case a friend gets stuck, or anything else needs to be pulled away. The two-part trailer harness connector makes hooking up a trailer even simpler. A rear-view camera and trailer side-mirrors ensure you always know what’s behind you, and where your load is.
Performance
The RAM 3500 offers a powerful 5.7-liter HEMI V8 good for 383 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. This engine allows the truck to tow up to 14,400 pounds. On the other hand, the 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine delivers 350 horsepower and an astounding 800 lb-ft of torque. Paired with the automatic transmission, this provides a towing capacity of 22,750 pounds. Another benefit of this engine is that it self-monitors its emissions output and doesn’t require a diesel exhaust fluid system.
Comfort
The comfortable interior has a hidden quality that fits in with any job. The seat fabric used is resistant to stains, odors, and even static. Dual climate controls, a 10-speaker Alpine sound system with a subwoofer, and remote start turn the 3500 into a moving office.
